Designing the Application of a Distributed Control System and Creating a Portable Mechanism with Pc-Based Numerical Control (Cnc)

Abstract

The trends in rapid production (RP) have largely impacted the development of technology in additional processes. Nevertheless, material incompatibility and accuracy issues with the additional processes have restricted the possibility of fabricating end-user products. The additional processes, including the more radical Computer Digital Control (CDC) machining, can in some cases be applied to RM. Using a 3-axis CDC milling machine equipped with an indexing device allows for increasing the accessibility of the cutting tools and avoiding numerous process restrictions. At the same time, more research should be conducted to advance the use of CDC in RM, which is the purpose of this thesis. This research aims to refine the process of deep machining and finishing operations and the application of cutting tools in CDC machining in order to make CDC machining applicable for RM. It is expected that the implementation of the proposed techniques will accelerate production and increase the quality of the parts produced.
